TEXAS LOAN OFFICER The primary responsiblity of a loan officer is to meet with the customer and answer any questions. They are also responsible for helping the customer select the best loan program for their needs. Things to be discussed may include: -Credit standing -Funds available -Income -Desired monthly payment -Any other issues that are of concern to the customer The loan officer is responsible for taking and completing the application for the loan using the appropriate form. Loan officer duties after the loan application is complete include the following: -Prequalify borrower for the loan program -Pull credit report -Designate the appraiser that will be used -Complete and forward the intial good faith estimate of closing costs to the borrower -Collect W2's, paystubs, banks statements, and tax returns if necessary -Deliver application and all other documents and info. to the loan processor After this, the loan officer chooses the best lender to who the loan processor will submit the loan through and choose the loan program as well. It is also important for the loan officer to communicate with the customer throughout the process.
